Ladoga Tablet Woven Band(s)

Based on a fragment recovered from the 11th -12th Century barrows from the Gaigovo group in Staraya Ladoga, this colourful band was not attributed to a specific grave find and is often simply referred to as the “Ladoga” band. Simple and striking, this beautifully detailed design is perfectly suited cloth belt, strap or trim for your Viking Age re-enactment or living history needs.

There are two bands featured on this listing.
_____

Band 1: Ladoga Tablet Woven Band (Red)

This band is a symmetrical interpretation of the original design, measuring to 220 cm (7'4") in length and 2 cm wide (2/3"). This band is handwoven with 100% hand dyed wool with crimson red (madder and cochineal beetle), emerald green (indigo and weld) and yellow.

Band 2: Ladoga Tablet Woven Band (Indigo)

This band is 232 cm (7' 6") in length and 1.5 cm (1/2") wide. This band is handwoven with 100% plant dyed* wool and would make an excellent cloth belt or trim for your Late Viking Age or Early Medieval garb. Colours produced with indigo (deep blue, soft blue) and dyer's chamomile (yellow).

All tablet woven wares are wet finished by Knarr Traders prior to sale to prevent shrinkage, set twist and avoid colour bleeding. Refrain from regular washing. If washing is required, soak in cold water. Do not agitate, scrub or wring wet wool. Dry flat in shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
