The Oseberg Ship Burial is one of the most famous Viking Age grave sites in the whole world! As such, it’s no wonder that the Narrow Oseberg pattern is a very popular choice for Viking LARP, living history and Viking Age re-enactment! This ornate geometric design is based on a narrow tablet woven band recovered from a 9th Century grave at Oseberg, Vestfold.

Band 1: Oseberg Tablet Woven Band (Dark Green)

This band is 225 cm (7' 4") in length and 1 cm (1/3") wide. Our version of the narrow Oseberg band is hand woven with 100% plant dyed* wool. This design features colours produced with natural indigo (blue) overdyed with onion skins (yellow). The lighter colour may appear white, but is a soft sage green in person.

Band 2: Oseberg Tablet Woven Band (Green)

This band is 217 cm (7' 1") in length and 1.3 cm (approx 1/2") wide. Our version of the narrow Oseberg band is hand woven with 100% plant dyed* wool. This design features colours produced with natural indigo (blue) overdyed with weld (yellow) to create deep emerald green. The lighter colour may appear white, but is a soft sage green in person.

*Plant dyed wool is beautiful but will require special care to maintain vibrancy and colour fastness. All tablet woven wares are wet finished by Knarr Traders prior to sale to prevent shrinkage, set twist and avoid colour bleeding. Refrain from regular washing. If washing is required, soak in cold water. Do not agitate, scrub or wring wet wool. Dry flat in shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
