Hallstatt III Tablet Woven Band

Also known as Hallstatt III, this stunning design is based on a well preserved fragment from the Early Iron Age (800 - 400 BC). Recovered from the anaerobic conditions of the prehistoric Hallstatt salt mines, this band still survives today in the Natural History Museum of Vienna!

This band is 220 cm (87 inches) in length and 1.5 cm (0.6 inches) wide. It is handwoven with 100% plant dyed* wool and would make an excellent cloth belt or trim for your living history kit. This design features colours produced with madder root (brick red ), onions skins and iron (olive green), and dandelion (light yellow).
