The Oseberg Ship Burial is one of the most famous Viking Age grave sites in the whole world! As such, it’s no wonder that the Narrow Oseberg pattern is a very popular choice for Viking LARP, living history and Viking Age re-enactment! This ornate geometric design is based on a narrow tablet woven band recovered from a 9th Century grave at Oseberg, Vestfold.

This band is 231 cm (7' 6") in length and 1 cm (1/3") wide. Our version of the Narrow Oseberg band is Handwoven with 100% plant dyed* wool. This design features colours produced with eucalyptus bark (caramel brown) and indigo (teal, light blue).

*Plant dyed wool is beautiful but will require special care to maintain vibrancy and colour fastness. All tablet woven wares are wet finished by Knarr Traders prior to sale to prevent shrinkage, set twist and avoid colour bleeding. Refrain from regular washing. If washing is required, soak in cold water. Do not agitate, scrub or wring wet wool. Dry flat in shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
